June and bring in July!

Riverton: Riverton Town Days June 24 thru July 2 - Riverton residents will have the opportunity to celebrate their town with the usual summer fest activities like a rodeo, parade, 5K and even fireworks. But they will also have a derby and demolition to help rev up their summer fun.

West Jordan Stampede: West Jordan’s Independence Day Festival July 4-7 includes a variety of events sure to please young and old. If you’re a thrill seeker, check out our PRCA Western Stampede Rodeo or Demolition Derby. Do you want to experience the thrill of rodeo first hand? Sign up to compete in our Un-Rodeo Rodeo. Do you like cotton candy and Ferris Wheels? The Carnival is the place for you. Star gazer? You’ll enjoy the free movies in the park. Of course, we also have a patriotic parade and an explosive fireworks show July 4.

JAWIB June Spotlight is on Kathleen Whiting!

She may not be a new face to everyone since she's been the Marketing Director for the West Jordan Chamber of Commerce for almost a year now. This job isn't so new to her since she did the same thing about 15 years ago!  Finding Kathleen is easy, she's the petite brunette with seriously good style and amazing personality beaming off of her.  Kathleen grew up in Salt Lake and now lives in West Jordan right near the Water Conservation Park. She says she has the BEST family with a husband everyone should envy since he treats her like a princess.  She has 4 daughters, 1 son and 1 daughter in law and 1 son in law.  So far she has one grandson that Kathleen will gush about since he's "the cutest world wide" and another grandbaby on the way.  Kathleen is passionate about shopping, loves to craft and sew but especially loves any time she gets with her grandson.  On top of working with WJCC she owns a Sno Shack, and has done so for the past 21 years.  Sno Cones aside, she has to have a Large Cola Slurpee every day, rain or shine! Kathleen adores her friends and family and enjoys that her job lets her be out in the community meeting new people. We are lucky to have her as the JAWIB WJCC liaison!

3) Come help support a good cause!

TD Gift Solutions, LLC and the So Long Summer planning committee are all working hard to get just the right amount of donations for the silent auction to be held at their gift show on October 6, 2012. All of the proceeds from the silent auction will go to a local Utah organization called Angel's Hands.org which seeks to help improve the quality of life of children with rare diseases.

AHF supports families in a variety of ways. Assisting families with medical expenses by paying off lingering medical bills and purchasing medical equipment not covered by insurance, has brought relief to families. Even with benefits, these families often struggle to give their children some of the simple joys in life. Hearing aids, wheel chairs, specialty strollers, special beds, braces, therapy spas, specialty bicycles, air conditioning and air filtration systems, special bath tubs, and many other items have been given to our children.

Donations can start as low as ten dollars . . thank you for your support (Donation Form)
